Healing with Olive Oil!

Olive Oil is great for so many things.  This is by far my favorite natural substance!  It can be used for cooking, hair care, skin care and even taken plainly for overall health care.  The oil squeezed out of the entire olive has amazing benefits!  I literally use it for almost everything.

This amazing oil fights all different types of bacteria, viruses, fungi, and parasites.  The main component in olive oil is apigenin, (which is discussed in my other blog Benefits of Chamomile) and has so many benefits to your overall health.  Another component is beta-sitosterol, which helps with:

  • Heart diseases
  • Lowering high cholesterol
  • Lowering high blood pressure
  • Boosting immune systems
  • Prevention of colon cancer
  • Gallstones
  • Common cold and flu
  • Arthritis
  • Tuberculosis
  • Fibromyalgia
  • Asthma and Bronchitis
  • Lupus
  • Cervical cancer
  • Hair loss
  • Psoriasis
  • Enlarged prostate
  • Menopause symptoms

All these benefits in one small olive fruit, and that’s only one component with all this goodness!  How can you not implement this oil in your everyday life?

The main nutrient in olive oil, believe it or not, is calcium.  Calcium is very beneficial to our body.  It is the most abundant mineral in our bodies.  It strengthens our bones and teeth, all the while maintaining healthy activity in the brain.  Who wouldn’t want that?

Uses for Olive Oil

Cooking

Instead of using vegetable oil or canola oil, I use extra virgin olive oil to prepare my meal in.  Not only for the health benefits of it, but also the taste of it.  It’s very light and gives my cooking a great flavor.  Plus, I feel better about eating it and serving it to my family because of the health benefits of it.  I don’t fry food anymore, but I will sauté it like there’s no tomorrow.  I even coat my baked chicken with olive oil to give it a nice crispy taste, almost like fried chicken.  HAHA!

Digestion

Even taking a spoonful of olive oil plainly will give you the benefits of aiding in the healing of the above ailments.

Hair Care

Using olive oil in your hair and scalp can be very beneficial to the health of your hair.  It’s like food for my hair and scalp!  The components and nutrients in the olive oil has given life back to my hair after years of frying and dying it with so many chemicals.  It also keep my scalp from dandruff, especially in the winter months.  (Note:  a little goes a long way, please don’t overdue it)

Skin Care

When applied to the skin, it can do wonders!  Even though many people say it is too thick to go on the skin, I beg to differ.  Maybe for face constantly, can be too much, but using it  everywhere else on my body has given me so much moisture.  I have mixed it with my hemp lotion (THC free, lol) sometimes during the winter months to give me that extra moisture.  When I use it on my face, I mix it with sugar in the raw or brown sugar, for a luxurious facial scrub.  YAY!  My skin thanks me for it.  I actually don’t even need to put moisturizer on after, because it does that for me.  YAY AGAIN!!!

Try it and see how much it changed your life, health and wellness.  Leave a comment below and let me know what you think if you have tried it.  That’s all for now.

Get healthy today and stay healthy tomorrow!
